Minister Saeed Ghani's brother arrested, in police custody for 'attacking government employee'

Karachi: A Magistrate’s Court on Sunday granted Farhan Ghani a one-day transit remand for investigation.

Farhan Ghani is the brother of PPP leader and provincial minister Saeed Ghani.

He was arrested by the police along with his associates on charges of attacking a government official.

The investigating officer said that the accused will be produced before the Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court tomorrow.

According to the details, Farhan Ghani and other accused were taken into custody after an incident of violence against a government official. Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani said in a social media post that Farhan Ghani and other accused will prove their innocence in court. Saeed Ghani said that the complainant Sohail had filed an FIR, which was his legal right.

Earlier, the police had arrested Farhan Ghani, the brother of Sindh Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani and Chairman of Chanesar Town, on terrorism charges.

According to details, an FIR has been registered against Farhan Ghani for attacking a government official in the town.

The case includes charges under anti-terrorism laws as well as attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and other provisions. Along with Farhan Ghani, the names of Qamaruddin, Shakeel Chandio, Sikandar and Rohan have also been mentioned in the FIR.
