Pakistan has not requested anyone to sit with India for talks, FM Dar
India and Pakistan had reached an understanding on May 10 to end the dispute after intense cross-border drone and missile attacks.

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said that Pakistan is ready for comprehensive talks with India to discuss Kashmir and all other pending issues.

Speaking to reporters outside the parliament in Islamabad where he was asked about talks with India, Dar said, “Whenever there are talks, they will not be only on Kashmir but on all issues.”

India has made it clear that it will hold talks with Pakistan only on the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism.

Dar, who is also the deputy prime minister, stressed that Pakistan had made it clear from the beginning that talks with India would not be on a single-point agenda.

He said that Pakistan had not requested any mediation but was offered a meeting at a neutral venue. He claimed that “we were asked to sit at a neutral location and I said that if that is the case, we are ready to meet.”

Dar said that he had received a call from the US for a ceasefire with India.

Dar said that I had received a call from the US for a ceasefire.

I had made it clear that Pakistan did not want war. India responded to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22 by initially carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure under ‘Operation Sindhoor’ on May 7, killing 26 people.

Following the Indian action, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10. Indian forces retaliated strongly against several Pakistani military installations.

Dar said the ceasefire agreement with India was intact.

In response to a question, Dar said the US Secretary of State’s visit to Pakistan was not yet scheduled.
