Elephant kills 20 people
New Delhi (NNI) A wild elephant has killed 20 people in the Indian state of Jharkhand in attacks that occurred over nine days. According to authorities, these deaths took place between January 1 and 9, but the elephant has not yet been domesticated. Indian media report that a state of high alert has been declared in the area, while a team of more than 100 forest officials is engaged in the search.
Indian authorities reported that the elephant tends to change location at night, making it difficult to track. They added that the elephant is prone to solitary behavior, and this behavior could disappear within 15 to 20 days.
