The United States has instructed its citizens to leave Iran immediately.

Islamabad (Newsroom) The United States has issued new instructions to its citizens amid escalating tensions and potential threats in Iran, advising them to leave the country immediately. A statement issued by the U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran indicated that protests are spreading rapidly across the country and could turn violent at any moment, so U.S. citizens should prioritize their safety. The embassy instructed U.S. citizens to travel to Armenia or Turkey by land, if possible, and to arrange their travel without direct assistance from the U.S. government. The statement also indicated that those who do not intend to leave Iran should remain in their homes in safe locations, avoid protests, and stock up on essential items such as food, water, and medicine.

Previously, senior advisors, led by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, had urged former President Donald Trump to give diplomatic channels a chance before any potential attack against Iran. According to US media reports, the White House was considering whether Iran was serious about negotiating its nuclear program, while Donald Trump was also considering authorizing military action against Iran.
